NIACC men place second at Tiger Classic
FORT MADISON - The NIACC men's golf team placed second at the Iowa Wesleyan Tiger Classic on Tuesday with a 300.
The Knox College Purple team was the team champion with a 292.
"Our guys put a solid score on the board (Tuesday) but it just wasn't good enough," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "I saw a lot of positives (Tuesday) from a few guys that struggled on Sunday.
"We'll take a few days off and get after it next week to prepare for the regional preview."
NIACC was led by sophomore Austin Eckenrod with a 74. Also for the Trojans, Jackson Hamlin and Matthew Heinemann shot 75s and Zach Martin shot 76. Beau Thompson shot 83.
