WATERLOO - A berth in the regional title game is on the line.
Second-seed NIACC faces top-seed Iowa Central at 7 p.m. Saturday in the winner's bracket of the NJCAA Region XI tournament. The winner advances to Sunday's 3:30 p.m. championship game.
NIACC is seeking its third straight regional title.
NIACC (39-17) moved to Saturday's regional semifinal contest with a 13-5, eight-inning win over third-seed Southeastern CC on Friday. The Trojans received a career-high five RBIs from freshman Joey Werner and a three-run home run from freshman Mitch Neunborn.
It was Neunborn's team-leading 13th home run.
Iowa Central stayed on the winner's side of the bracket with a 3-2 win over fourth-seed Kirkwood late Friday night.
The loser of Saturday night's contest plays either Kirkwood, Southeastern or DMACC at noon on Sunday in an elimination game.
Notes: NIACC has won 10 straight games at the regional baseball tournament ... NIACC coach Travis Hergert has a record of 18-4 at the regional tournament since taking over as head coach in 2013.
