NIACC tops Century College in Autism Awareness game
MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team topped Century College 12-5 in Wednesday's Autism Awareness game at Roosevelt Field.
All proceeds from Wednesday's event are going to the Children's Autism Center in Clear Lake.
NIACC's Cam Shannon, who was batting ninth, drove in a career-best five runs with a two-run double in the second inning and a three-run home run in the third inning.
It is the second time this season a NIACC player has driven in five runs in a game. Brandon Michie plated five runs against NOC-Enid on March 13.
NIACC also received a three-run double from Bryce Ball in the fifth inning.
NIACC returns to action Friday in a doubleheader at Iowa Lakes.
