NIACC's Martin places 10th at time trial

Whitney Martin runs to a 10th place finish at Friday's regional time trial in Ottumwa.

OTTUMWA - NIACC freshman Whitney Martin placed 10th at the NJCAA Region XI time trial on Friday.

Martin covered the 5-kilometer course in a time of 22 minutes, 6 seconds. Iowa Western's Emmy Jepkemei won the race in a time of 19:52.

Also for the NIACC women on Friday, sophomore Miricle Corbo was 13th in a career-best 22:29. Corbo's previous career best was a 23:05 at the Trent Smith Invitational last season.

Sophomore Alana Wickering was 19th in 23:24 and freshman Ashley Kriener was 22nd in 24:16.

NIACC returns to action Sept. 6 at the Augustana College Twilight Invitational.
