NIACC women place 2nd at Viking Invitational
PLEASANT HILL - The NIACC women's cross country team placed second at the 13th annual Grand View Viking Invitational on Friday.
The Lady Trojans earned their second-place finish by scoring 53 points in the four-team meet. Simpson College was the team champion with 20 points.
Also, host Grand View was third with 71 points and DMACC was fourth with 91 points.
NIACC was led by freshman Julia Dunlavey, who was eighth in a time of 23 minutes, 4 seconds in the 5-kilomter race. Next in line for the Lady Trojans was sophomore Amy Fullerton, who was ninth in 23:12.
Other counting scores for the Lady Trojans were sophomore Keisha Gonzague, who was 13th in 24:56; freshman Rebekah Larson, who was 17th in 25:25; and freshman Ally Trager, who was 20th in 25:48.
Also for NIACC, freshman Maddison Shupe was 33rd (27:16), sophomore Allison Steahr was 34th (27:44) and Tiffany Meyer was 35th (27:45).
