NIACC's Lienhard is ICCAC wrestler of the week

MASON CITY – NIACC's Laken Lienhard was selected as the ICCAC women's wrestler of the week for the week of Nov. 7-13.

Lienhard was 4-0 last week, including claiming the 143-pound title at the Luther College Open.

Lienhard, who is also a member of the NIACC softball team, pinned Indian Hills' Jazmyn Knutson in 1:01 in a dual meet.

Lienhard, who is ranked No. 1 at 143 pounds in the first-ever NJCAA individual rankings, won three matches at the Luther College Open, including a 10-0 tech fall over Quincy's Jazmine Garcia.

Lienhard is 5-3 with two falls and two technical falls this season.

No. 8 NIACC (0-1 in duals) returns to action Wednesday at home against No. 6 Iowa Central. Match time in the NIACC recreation center is slated for 6 p.m.
