NIACC falls to No. 5 Iowa Central, 3-0

FORT DODGE - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 5 (NJCAA Division II) Iowa Central on Wednesday.
Iowa Central (30-5 overall, 8-0 in the ICCAC) won 25-19, 25-14, 25-11.
"The effort was there and we came ready to battle," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We are proud of their fight and although we didn't put many points on the board with kills, they moved the ball around well.
"Defensively, we had 29 positive block touches and 43 digs to keep the ball alive - that's a lot of fight."
NIACC (10-25, 3-5) was led by sophomore Kyla Moore with seven kills and two blocks. Ryley Wetlaufer had 16 assists, five digs, two kills and one ace serve and Kaylee Ollendieck had 17 digs and two assists.
Also for the Trojans, Jaida Hansen had two kills, two digs and one block, Kennedy Schwiesow had five digs and one ace serve, Kalayah Kaschub had four kills and two digs, Tiegan Barkema had seven digs and two kills and Alyssa Wickersheim had two kills, two digs and one ace serve.
NIACC wraps up its regular season at home on Oct. 26 against Iowa Lakes on sophomore night. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m.
