NIACC falls to No. 12 DMACC, 3-0

BOONE - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 12 (NJCAA Division II) DMACC Wednesday night in its ICCAC opener.
DMACC won 25-21, 25-10, 25-15.
"The conference is full of fierce competition," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said, "and (Wednesday) was a reality check for our team.
"We now have the power to use (Wednesday's) outcome to build resilient college-level players. Tomorrow we get the opportunity to get back in the gym and get better together."
NIACC (2-7 overall, 0-1 in the ICCAC) was led by Grace Tobin with four kills, 10 digs and two ace serves. Kyla Moore also had four kills for the Trojans.
Also for NIACC, Kaylee Ollendieck had six digs and two ace serves, Samantha Coron had nine assists, eight digs and three ace serves, Ryley Wetlaufer had five assists and five digs and Kalayah Kaschub had three kills and one block.
NIACC's Halsie Keltner had two kills and four digs.
NIACC returns to action Friday at home against the Wartburg College Junior Varsity. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
