NIACC volleyball team ranked 19th in latest poll

MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team is ranked No. 19 in the latest NJCAA Division II poll released Monday.

It is the first time since the final 1995 NJCAA Division I poll that the Lady Trojans have been ranked. NIACC, which qualified for the national tournament, were ranked 18th in the final poll in 1995.

NIACC improved to 13-4 overall with a three wins at home last weekend. The Lady Trojans topped DCTC on Friday night and Marshalltown CC and the Central College JV on Saturday.

Other ICCAC teams ranked are Kirkwood (8th) and Iowa Central (12th).

NIACC returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC match at Southwestern.
