NIACC's Wagner, Gauch earn ICCAC POW honors
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomores Hannah Wagner and Connor Gauch both earned ICCAC volleyball player of the week honors for the week of Oct. 8-14.
Wagner, an outside hitter, was selected as the league's offensive player of the week and Gauch earned the defensive player of week honor.
Wagner totaled 88 kills as the Lady Trojans went 3-2 during the week. She also collected 94 digs.
Wagner ranks third in the ICCAC in total kills with 449, ranks fifth in hitting percentage (.287) and ranks second in total points (521). In 31 matches this season, Wagner has collected double-digit kills in 28 matches and has reached double digits in 17 straight matches.
Gauch, a libero, collected 86 digs in the Lady Trojans' five matches last week, including 24 against the Grand View Junior Varsity on Oct. 13. Gauch ranks second in the league in digs with 559.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home in an ICCAC match against Iowa Central. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m.
