SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - The NIACC volleyball team went 2-2 at the Waubonsee CC Invitational.
After splitting its opening two matches on Friday, the Lady Trojans also went 1-1 on the second day of the season-opening invitational.
On Saturday, NIACC dropped a 3-1 decision to Glen Oaks CC and topped No. 12 McHenry County College 3-0
Glen Oaks won 21-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-20. Against McHenry County, NIACC won 25-18, 25-16, 25-22.
"Our first match of the day we went point for point with Glen Oaks but struggled to get any momentum going," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "The second match against McHenry, we played much better together and our defense gave us some great opportunities to keep playing.
"Overall, we went 2-2 this weekend and took a big step forward as a team."
NIACC opens its home season Wednesday in an ICCAC match against Southwestern. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
