NIACC falls to Wartburg JV, 3-2
MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to the Wartburg College Junior Varsity in a nonconference match Monday night in the NIACC gym.
The Wartburg JV won 25-23, 22-25, 27-25, 25-27, 15-12.
"We definitely gave Wartburg a good run," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said, "but came up a little short.
"We will continue to work on ellimimating our errors as well as being aggressive with our offense."
NIACC was led by sophomore Brooke Greenwood with 12 kills and three blocks. Freshman Hannah Wagner had 11 kills and 11 digs.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Sydney Roush had 32 assists, 19 digs and three kills, Connor Gauch had 13 digs, Shelby Heston had eight kills, Amanda Borden had six kills, four blocks, 15 digs, three ace serves and four blocks, Becca Konz had seven kills and five blocks and Sammi Hyde had six digs.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC match at Iowa Central. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
