MASON CITY — NIACC dropped a thrilling five-set ICCAC match to Southwestern Community College on Wednesday.
Set scores were 25-21, 22-25, 25-14, 25-27, 13-15.
"We definitely didn't play with the passion needed to be successful tonight," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We need to give SWCC a lot of credit, they played to win and didn't give up."
Meagan Miller led NIACC with 18 kills and added 10 digs, Kaylee Whittington had 18 kils, 14 digs and three blocks, Lauren Ries had 10 kills and seven digs while Becca Konz added eight kills and two blocks.
Also for NIACC (18-13 overall), Liv Block had 34 digs, Hannah Carr had 17 digs, Aubury Coleman had five blocks, Brooke Greenwood had five kills and three blocks, Hailey Winter had 30 assists and nine digs and Jackie Bleifus had 28 assists and digs.
NIACC returns to action Thursday night at home with its annual Think Pink match. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
