NIACC's Herbert places 2nd in 200

WAVERLY - NIACC freshman Tenisha Herbert placed second in the 200-meter dash and sixth in the triple jump at Wartburg College's Friday Knight Lights indoor meet on the Wartburg campus.

Herbert earned her second-place finish in the 200 in a time of 26.98 seconds. Herbert was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 9.95 meters (32 feet, 7 3/4 inches).

Herbert's time in the 200 ranks third on NIACC's all-time indoor list. Her triple jump leap ranks fourth on the school's all-time indoor list.

Also for the Trojans at the Friday Knight Lights meet, freshman Taja Conley was fourth in the 600 in a time of 1:49.65. Freshman Juliana Droll placed fourth in the 3,000-meter run (13:11.4).

NIACC freshman Skyila Shuryan was fifth in the 800 (2:39.68).

In the 200, Maddy Welbes placed eighth in a time of 28.01.

In the 400, Emily Usher placed ninth in 1:12.74 and Hayden Long was 10th (1:20.94).

The foursome of Conley, Herbert, Usher and Welbes placed fourth in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:26.14.
