NIACC women place 4th at regionals
COUNCIL BLUFFS - The NIACC women's track and field team placed fourth with 77 points the NJCAA Region XI championships on Saturday and Sunday.
Iowa Western was the women's team champion with 249.66 points and Iowa Central was second with 180 points.
NIACC won the 4x800-meter relay in a time of 10 minutes, 2.75 seconds. The Lady Trojans ran Cecelia Hemsworth, Ally Trager, Emma Davison and Ivy Rollene.
The Lady Trojans also crowned a regional champion in freshman Kasey Parish with a toss of 37.16 meters. NIACC's Caitlin Serle was second in the javelin (31.31 meters) and Lexi Jones was fourth (28.31 meters).
Also for the NIACC women, Davison was third in the 1,500 in a time of 5:01.90.
In the 400 hurdles, Trager was third in a time of 1:10.57 and Jilian Heitland was fourth in 1:21.13.
In the discus, NIACC's Dasiah Tatum was fourth (34.97 meters).
