MARSHALLTOWN - The NIACC women's soccer team topped Marshalltown CC 8-3 Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest.
The eight goals by the Trojans tied a single-game school record. The Trojans also scored eight goals in an 8-2 win over Scott CC in 2002.
NIACC (3-5-2 overall, 3-1-1 in the ICCAC) have not lost a match in its last five matches. The Trojans own wins over Scott CC, Southeastern and Marshalltown and played Hawkeye CC and RCTC to double-overtime draws.
In Saturday's win over Marshalltown CC, NIACC received a hat trick from Brianna Marchand and two goals from Amalia Briseno. Jaya Soor, Ali Lincicum and Valerie Nelson also added goals for the Trojans.
Nelson and Jette Busche both contributed two assists along with Soor and Alina Turtschan.
NIACC returns to action at home on Tuesday against No. 6 (NJCAA Division II) Northeast CC. Match time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
