NIACC's Luthens, Luke place 2nd at Coe Invite
CEDAR RAPIDS - NIACC's Brock Luthens and Hunter Luke both placed second at the Coe College Invitational on Saturday.
Luthens placed second at 133 pounds and Luke was the runner-up at 141 pounds.
Also for the Trojans, Tony Mendoza placed fourth at 149 pounds and Holt Truax and Hunter Hagen both advanced to the fifth-place match at 197 pounds but the two teammates did not wrestle each other.
In the 133-pound title match, Coe's Brock Henderson topped Luthens, 16-9.
In the 141-pound championship match, Grand View's Matt Robertson pinned Luke in five minutes, 31 seconds.
In the 149-pound third-place match, Neosho's Brenner Vogan edged Mendoza, 3-2.
NIACC returns to action Nov. 28 in a dual meet at Iowa Central.
