Trojans' Jackson, Faught, Sidhu win first-round matches
COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC's Noah Jackson, Ryan Faught and Jimsher Sidhu all picked up first-round wins at the NJCAA national wrestling tournament Friday morning.
At 157 pounds, Jackson stopped RCTC's Alfred Daniel, 7-3.
At 165 pounds, Faught nipped Ridgewater's Augustus Siaway 2-1 in his opening round match.
At 285 pounds, Sidhu pinned Rowan's Mark Fischer in 5 minutes, 38 seconds.
NIACC's Mark Gonzales (125), Robert Rodriguez (149), Tavion Askew (174) and Sedrak Sheppard (197) all dropped first-round matches.
The Trojans' Austin Anderly received a first-round bye at 141 pounds.
