NIACC's Sidhu wins B division at BVU Open

STORM LAKE - NIACC's Jimsher Sidhu won the 285-pound title in the Class B division at the BVU Open on Saturday.

Sidhu topped Ellsworth's Jalen Gowdy 11-5 in the championship match.

Also for the Trojans on Saturday in the B division, Colby Winnett (157) and Luke Erickson (197) placed third. Jacob Carlson was fourth at 165 pounds and Alaen Gonzalez was sixth at 125 pounds.

In the Class A division, NIACC's Brennen Doebel won the consolation championship at 125 pounds. Doebel won three matches in the consolation bracket after dropping a 10-9 decision to Grand View's Sidney Oliver in the first round.

NIACC returns to action in a dual meet at Iowa Central on Wednesday.
