NIACC wrestlers fall to Iowa Lakes
ESTHERVILLE - Three open weights cost No. 9 NIACC in a 28-17 loss to No. 7 Iowa Lakes in ICCAC action on Wednesday.
"I thought every guy went out and wrestled hard," NIACC coach Steve Kelly said. "We really showed up but the three open weights killed us. That's 18 points right there."
Second-ranked Paul Mascarenas picked up a 6-5 win over Brian Maas at 125, Taylor Lehman won 7-0 over Tyson Leon at 141, Jake Niichel recorded a fall in 6 minutes, 3 seconds against Cale Roelofsen at 149 and Seth Niichel recorded a 15-0 victory over Avery Nelson via technical fall at 165 for NIACC (4-5).
NIACC returns to action next Wednesday, hosting Ellsworth at 7 p.m.
