NIACC women place second at Iowa Central Invite
FORT DODGE - The NIACC women's golf team placed second at the Iowa Central Invitational on Monday at the Fort Dodge Country Club.
NIACC shot a 364-375 - 739.
Iowa Lakes was the team champion with a 345-358 - 702.
NIACC was led by Sydney Fullerton with a 86-95 - 181 and Ashley Alert with a 90-91 - 181. Also for the Lady Trojans, Jordyn Barragy with a 95-93 - 188 and Morgan Luecht with a 93-96 - 189.
"The winds came up and caused scores to go higher (Monday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "We could easily see these types of conditions this weekend at Otter Creek so it was a good test.
"Putting hurt some of them (Monday) and others struggled with some short game stuff. Overall, I thought we hit the ball OK."
The NIACC women open play at the four-round NJCAA Region XI tournament Friday and Saturday at Otter Creek in Ankeny.
