NIACC women shoot 394 at Iowa Lakes Invitational
OKOBOJI – The NIACC women's golf team opened its fall season by shooting 394 and placing third at the Iowa Lakes Invitational at the Brooks National Golf Club.
DMACC won the three-team invitational with a 355 and Iowa Lakes was second with a 377.
"I thought for our first tournament of the season we played well," NIACC assistant coach Adam Brinkman said. "Brooks National is extremely challenging golf course.
"We got off to a little bit of a rough start, but the girls battled back and that is what we want to see as a coach when the round isn't going our way."
Freshman Morgan Luecht led the Lady Trojans with a 48-46 – 94. Next in line was freshman Sydney Fullerton with a 48-48 – 96.
NIACC freshman Ashley Alert shot a 53-46 – 99 and sophomore Courtney Tusler shot a 54-46 – 100 and Kelli Wilson shot a 46-54 – 100.
The NIACC women return to action Sept. 13 at the Iowa Western Invitational.
