NIACC rolls past Marshalltown CC, 83-48

MASON CITY - Every player on the NIACC roster scored at least two points as the NIACC women's basketball team cruised to a 83-48 victory over Marshalltown CC Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.

Sophomore Audrey Martinez-Stewart and freshman Grace Davis-Chavez both scored 12 points to lead NIACC, which led 23-8 after the first quarter.

Also for the Trojans, sophomore Jackie Pippett scored nine points and freshman Adit Koth scored a career-high nine points.

NIACC outrebounded Marshalltown CC 69-32. Keiara Anderson and Koth both grabbed eight rebounds for the Trojans as Anderson matched her career best single-game rebound total and Koth recorded her best rebound total to date.

Pippett, Martinez-Stewart and Niamh O'Leary both collected seven rebounds.

NIACC's Shakyla Walker collected eight assists, which matched her career high. Martinez led the Trojans with six steals.

NIACC (12-7 overall, 5-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest at DMACC. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
