CEDAR RAPIDS - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 72-34 decision to No. 1 Kirkwood Saturday afternoon in the NJCAA Region XI semifinals.
Kirkwood (31-1) led 22-10 after the first quarter and pushed its lead to 31-14 at the half.
Kirkwood was led by Karsyn Stratton with 18 points. Also for the Eagles, Ashley Tull scored 12 points and Kortney Drake scored eight points.
NIACC (22-9) was led by Alyssa Hames with seven points. Audrey Martinez-Stewart collected six rebounds with three assists and three steals.
Also for the Trojans, Kourtney Manning scored six points with six rebounds.
Kirkwood moves to Sunday's regional title game against either second-seed Iowa Western or third-seed Iowa Central.
