NIACC women fall to Iowa Central, 67-65
FORT DODGE - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 67-65 decision to No. 19 Iowa Central Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest.
NIACC (9-4 overall, 2-4 in the ICCAC) had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds but could not convert on an inbounds play with one second to play in the contest.
NIACC was led by point guard Audrey Martinez-Stewart with 18 points, 7 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Freshman post Jackie Pippett scored a career-high 17 points with 13 rebounds.
Alyssa Hames and Chelsey Holck both scored nine points for the Trojans.
Iowa Central (14-0, 4-0) was led by Nevaeh Galloway with 17 points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals.
NIACC returns to action Sunday at home against the William Penn Junior Varsity. Game time in the NIACC gym is set for 1 p.m.
