No. 1 NIACC tops Iowa Lakes 82-54, advances to Region XI championship

MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team is headed back to the Region XI championship game.
The top-ranked Lady Trojans improved to 31-1, advancing to their seventh consecutive regional title game with an 82-54 victory over Iowa Lakes on Saturday in the NIACC gym.
NIACC was led by Sierra Morrow, who recorded 13 points, 11 rebounds while collecting six blocked shots. Kelcie Hale knocked down four 3-point goals, finishing with 12 points, and Abby Leach added 11 points off the bench for the Lady Trojans.
Iowa Lakes was led by 15 points from Destiny Broussard while Shareece Smith (14) and Breanna Wendland (12) also reached double figures for the Lakers.
NIACC received 38 points off the bench, including nine from Andrea Gray. Autam Mendez added seven points and seven rebounds and Sierra Lynch had six points, four assists and four steals for the Lady Trojans, who host No. 4 Kirkwood, a 78-59 winner over Southeastern, at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the Region XI championship game.
