Look inside NIACC's home winning streak

MASON CITY - On Saturday, the No. 1 NIACC women's basketball team topped then No. 2 Kirkwood 85-64 for its 30th straight home win.

The last home loss for the Lady Trojans was a 70-68 defeat to Kirkwood on Feb. 14, 2018.

NIACC's current 30-game home-court win streak started with a 110-78 win over DMACC on Feb. 24, 2018. The Lady Trojans won their final two home games of the 2017-18 season to move their home-court win streak to three games.

NIACC was 15-0 in the NIACC gym in the 2018-19 season and are currently 12-0 at home in the 2019-20 season.

In the 30-game win streak that has stretched over three seasons 25 of the 30 wins have come by more than 10 points.

In the 2018-19 season, NIACC topped Illinois Central 95-89 in overtime at the Konigsmark Klassic. The Lady Trojans topped Kirkwood 68-62 in the regular season and claimed the NJCAA Region XI title with a 77-70 win over Kirkwood.

In the 2019-20 season, NIACC nipped Illinois Central 82-81 in the Konigsmark Klassic and the Lady Trojans topped the Grand View JV 96-91 at the NIACC Thanksgiving Challenge.

In the 30 straight wins in the NIACC gym, the NIACC women have outscored their opponents, 2,915 to 1,1914.

NIACC hosts Southwestern on sophomore day Saturday in the NIACC gym in its final regular season contest. The Lady Trojans host a first-round NJCAA Region XI tournament contest on March 4.
