NIACC's Homola earns ICCAC player of week honor
MASON CITY - For the sixth time this season, a NIACC women's basketball player has been selected as the ICCAC player of the week.
NIACC freshman Mikayla Homola earned the honor for the week of Feb. 19-25. It was the second time this season that Homola has been selected as she also picked up the Oct. 30-Nov. 5 award.
Homola scored 26 points in both of the Lady Trojans' wins last week over Ellsworth and DMACC. She also totaled 11 rebounds and three assists in the two victories.
Homola averages 14.6 points per game and has connected on 58 3-point goals. She also has 88 rebounds, 36 assists and 34 steals.
No. 12 NIACC (22-6 overall, 9-3 in the ICCAC) plays at Iowa Lakes on Wednesday and hosts Southwestern on Saturday in its final two regular season contests.
