No. 13 NIACC women stop Ellsworth, 99-70
IOWA FALLS - Mikayla Homola scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Taylor Laabs scored 24 points to lead No. 13 NIACC to a 99-70 victory over Ellsworth in an ICCAC women's basketball contest Wednesday.
NIACC led 23-16 after the first quarter and pushed its lead to 44-33 at the half. The Lady Trojans outscored the Panthers 55-37 in the second half to pick up their 21st win of the season.
NIACC connected on 18 of 58 3-point goals as the Lady Trojans gained their 13th straight win over Ellsworth in the series.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Selena Shady and Adria Stewart both scored nine points. Kenlie Pytleski scored eight points with seven rebounds and six assists.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against DMACC. Game time is set for 1 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
