NIACC women fall to No. 8 DMACC, 71-58
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 71-58 decision to No. 8 DMACC in the ICCAC opener for both teams Saturday in the NIACC gym.
NIACC led 30-25 at the half, but the Lady Trojans were outscored 46-28 in the second half.
Freshman guard UU Longs led NIACC with 11 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Freshman Cierra Stanciel was next in line with nine points and freshman Taylor Laabs scored eight points.
Laabs also collected six steals. Marci Wolters scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds.
DMACC was led by Amanda Cartney and Molly Mitchell with 15 points apiece.
NIACC (8-8 overall) returns to action Wednesday at Iowa Lakes.
