No. 17 NIACC faces South Suburban today

EAST PEORIA, Ill. - The No. 17 NIACC women's basketball team faces South Suburban College (Ill.) at noon Thursday in the consolation round of the Stoney Creek/Cougar Holiday Tournament on the Illinois Central tournament.

NIACC (6-6 overall) dropped a 85-70 decision to No. 15 Kalamazoo Valley CC in its opening round contest on Wednesday. Illinois Central beat South Suburban 62-51 in its first-round contest.

In Wednesday's game against Kalamazoo Valley, Taylor Laabs led four NIACC playes in double figures with 14, Hattie Davidson had 13, Riley Galvin scored 12 and Khalilah Holloway added 11 points and 15 rebounds.

NIACC last played South Suburban in the opening round of the 2012-13 Illinois Central tournament with the Lady Trojans winning 68-55.
