WEST BURLINGTON - The NIACC softball team split an ICCAC doubleheader with Southeastern on Saturday.
Southeastern won the first game 3-2 and NIACC won the second game 1-0 as Kayla Sproul tossed a two-hitter.
In the second game, the Lady Trojans scored the only run of the contest on a home run from Ravyn Krachey.
Sproul (2-8) struck out two and did not walk a batter in tossing her first-career shutout.
It was the first time NIACC has won a 1-0 game since Lexy Pederson tossed a 3-hit shutout against Iowa Lakes on March 31, 2016.
In the first game, Southeastern scored a single run in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim the victory.
NIACC scored its two runs in the fifth inning on a two-run single by Kayla Noelker.
Noelker and Hailey Worman both collected two hits for the Lady Trojans.
NIACC's Laken Lienhard struck out six and did not walk a batter in her six innings of work.
NIACC (9-19 overall, 7-19 in the ICCAC) and Southeastern wrap up their four-game series on Sunday.
