MASON CITY - The No. 12 (NJCAA Division I) Indian Hills softball team swept NIACC in an ICCAC twinbill on an extremely windy Friday afternoon on the NIACC campus.
Indian Hills won the first game 12-7 and took the second game 13-4 in five innings.
In the first game, Indian Hills scored eight runs in the fourth inning. The Warriors also scored single runs in the second and fifth innings and plated two runs in the seventh frame.
NIACC used three home runs to score six of its seven runs. Laken Lienhard hit solo home runs in the third and sixth innings and Hailey Worman hit a grand slam in the fifth inning.
It is the second time this season that a NIACC player has it two home runs in a game. NIACC's Anna Lensing his two homers in first game of doubleheader against DMACC on March 29.
In the second game, Indian Hills scored three runs in the first innings and pushed across five runs in the third inning. The Warriors also added a single run in the fourth inning and plated four runs in the fifth inning.
NIACC scored a single run in the second inning, pushed across two runs in the third inning and scored one run in the fourth inning.
In the second inning, Macy Alexander drove in a run with a double.
In the third inning, Hailey Worman drove in a run with a single and Riley Nelson plated a run with a ground out to shortstop.
In the fourth inning, NIACC's Ravyn Krachey drove in a run with a double.
NIACC (5-9 overall, 3-9 in the ICCAC) and Indian Hills (20-4, 12-2) wrap up their four-game series on Saturday with another doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. on the NIACC campus.
