NIACC faces DMACC in tourney opener on Tuesday

BOONE - The NIACC softball team faces DMACC at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI-A tournament.

The winner of the NIACC/DMACC contest faces either Iowa Central or Northeast CC at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The losers of the two first-round contests meet at noon on Wednesday.

The tournament was originally supposed to begin on Friday, but inclement weather pushed it back until Tuesday.

2 p.m. - (1) DMACC vs. (8) NIACC

4 p.m. - (4) Iowa Central vs. (5) Northeast CC

Wednesday's games

Noon - DMACC/NIACC loser vs. Iowa Central/Northeast loser

2 p.m. - DMACC/NIACC winner vs. Iowa Central/Northeast winner

4 p.m. - Noon winner vs. 2 p.m. loser

Thursday's games

Noon - Championship game

2 p.m. - Second championship game, if necessary
