IOWA FALLS — NIACC struggled in the circle Saturday as it was handed a pair of losses at the hand of Ellsowrth Community College. The Panthers, who were hit by 10 pitches and had 22 hits on the day, won 8-4 and 15-10.
"It's not a lack of work ethic, it's just attention to detail and in the moment they're trying to be too precise," NIACC coach Christ Weiser said. "They have to find a way to mentally lock in and finish what they start."
NIACC still had a decent day at the plate, though.
Katie Chapman led the way with a single and a double in the opener, and added three singles, a double and three RBIs in the second game.
"I like the way she's attacking good pitches," Weiser said. "She's understanding how to attack, has a great mentality and is really just trying to hit the ball hard, and it shows in the stats."
