NIACC men place 16th at Arkansas Chile Pepper
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The NIACC men's cross country team placed 16th in the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival Saturday.
The Trojans, who are ranked 15th in NJCAA Divison I poll, accumlated 442 points in the 8-kilometer II race. Texas Southern won the II race with 141 points.
The Trojans, who ran seven freshman, finished ahead of No. 21 Cowley College, which is ranked 21st in the latest NJCAA Division I poll.
NIACC was led by Jorge Ruiz, who was 55th in a time of 26 minutes, 59 seconds. Other counting scores for the Trojans were Janvier Irakoze (84th in 27:23), Aidan Bauermeister (87th in 27:25), Jalen Petersen (102nd in 27:40) and Dawson Schmidt (124th in 27:58).
Also for the Trojans, Ellis Regan was 156th in 28:29, Matthew Dibbern was 159th in 28:30 and Ben Ellis was 177th in 28:52.
NIACC hosts the Trent Smith Invitational on Friday.
