NIACC men place 25th at national meet
GARDEN CITY, Kan. - The NIACC men's cross country team placed 25th at the NJCAA Division I national meet on Saturday with 683 points.
Central Arizona was the men's national team champion with 100 points and Iowa Central was second with 118 points.
Indian Hills was 15th with 432 points, Hawkeye CC was 19th with 563 points and Southwestern was 24th with 680 points.
Hutchinson CC's Andrew Kibet won the individual national title in a time of 25 minutes, 25 seconds on the 8-kilometer course on the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.
NIACC, which entered the national meet ranked No. 21, was led by freshman Gavin Connell, who was 100th in a time of 28:45.
Other counting scores for the Trojans were Sam Pedelty (132nd, 29:15), Isaac Branstad (173rd, 30:04), Daniel Hennigar (176th, 30:06) and Grant Dieken (190th, 30:38).
Also for the Trojans, Abdiaziz Wako was 207th in 31:18 and Zane Miller was 217th in 31:43.
