Charles City's Connell signs with NIACC
CHARLES CITY - Charles City's Gavin Connell signed a national letter of intent on Thursday to run cross country at NIACC in the fall of 2018.
Connell placed 36th in the Class 3A state cross country meet during his senior season in a time of 16:57 in the five-kilometer race.
On Wednesday, NIACC signed Clear Lake's Sam Pedelty, who placed 40th at the Class 3A state meet.
The NIACC men's cross country team placed 18th at the 2017 NJCAA Division I meet in Fort Dodge. The Trojans' Brian Jacques earned all-American honors with his seventh-place finish.
The NIACC men have placed in the top 10 at the national meet four of the last seven seasons.
