NIACC's Thomas places 8th in Drake Relays long jump

DES MOINES - NIACC freshman Terrence Thomas placed eighth in the long jump Saturday in the university/college division at the Drake Relays.

Thomas earned his eighth-place finish with a leap of 7.22 meters. Joshua Rivers of Wisconsin-Oshkosh was the long jump champion with a leap of 7.56 meters.

On Friday at the Drake Relays, Thomas was 16th in the triple jump with a jump of 13.36 meters.

Also on Friday at Drake for the Trojans, Quinton Ellis placed 10th in the 400-meter dash in the university/college division in a time of 47.96 seconds.

The NIACC men's sprint medley team of Tyreese James, Quinton Ellis, Bruce Huggins and Jacob Vais placed 13th in the college division in a time of 3:22.95.
