NIACC's Steene earns 3 top 10 finishes at regionals

COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC freshman Fabian Steene earned three top 10 finishes Saturday at the NJCAA Region 11 outdoor track and field championships.

Steene was second in the javelin with a career best toss of 155 feet, 9 inches, which ranks third on NIACC's all-time javelin list.

Steene was also fourth in the high jump (6-4 1/4) and 10th in the long jump (21-9).

Also for the Trojans Saturday, Matt Seberson was 10th in the javelin (115-2). Perez Hemmings qualified for the finals in the 110 hurdles in a career best time of 15.28 seconds, which ranks third on the school's 110 hurdle list.

NIACC's 4x800-meter relay team of Bryson Canton, Hugo Massa, Vlad Starrett and Jacob Vais placed third in a time of 8:15.58.
