NIACC's Canton wins 800 at Good Friday Open

DUBUQUE - NIACC freshman Bryson Canton won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:00.63 at the University of Dubuque Good Friday Open.

The 2:00.63 was a personal best for Canton, whose previous best in the 800 was 2:04.54 at the Grand View Viking Relays on March 25.

Canton also placed second in the 3,000 steeplechase in a time of 10:18.62.

Also for the Trojans on Friday, freshman Fabian Steene was second in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 5 1/2 inches and was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 22-2 1.4.

NIACC's Dylan Novak was seventh in the 400 hurdles in 59.87 and Parker McHone was seventh in the 110 hurdles in 16.05.
