NIACC men place 5th at Wartburg Select meet
WAVERLY - The NIACC men's track and field team placed fifth at the Wartburg College Outdoor select meet Satuday with 43 points.
Host Wartburg won the meet with a total of 279 points.
NIACC's Alec Hayes tied for second in the high jump with a leap of 1.90 meters. Jacob Henjum was seventh in the high jump (1.80 meters).
Also for the Trojans, Deundra Roberson was third in the long jump (6.40 meters) in his first collegiate competition.
Sophomore Kyle Younker was third in the 200 in a time of 23.05 seconds. Max Romain was fourth in the 5,000-meter run (16:50.32).
Also in the 5,000, Gavin Connell was sixth (17>46.64) and Grant Dieken was seventh (18:13.48).
The Trojans were third in the 4x100 (43.20) running Younker, Brendan Hoy, Timothi McMaster and Kalen Eastman. The foursome of Hoy, Seon Clarke, Eastman and Younker was sixth in the 4x400 (3:30.54).
