NIACC's Keller places 19th in 10K at national meet
EL DORADO, Kan. - NIACC sophomore Blake Keller placed 19th in the 10,000-meter run Thursday at the NJCAA Division I national championships in a time of 34 minutes, 50.77 seconds.
Also the NIACC men's 4x100 meter relay team ran a 47.92 in the prelims. The Trojans ran Timothi McMaster, Kyle Younker, Kalen Eastman and Deionte Ganzy.
"Deionte pulled a hamstring but jogged across the finish line therefore the time," NIACC coach Curtis Vais said. "We were in great shape so it was unfortunate.
"(Coach Sean) Wells had the team prepared."
Iowa Central qualified for the 4x100 finals with the sixth fastest qualifying time (40.20) and Iowa Western made the finals with the eighth-fastest qualifying time (40.34).
For the NIACC women, Jalynn Scrinver ran a 1:06.22 in the 400 hurdles prelims, which was the 12th fastest time. Central Arizona's LaMeyah Charlton was the last runner to make the finals with a 1:04.49.
