NIACC men reset 4x100 school record
COUNCIL BLUFFS - The NIACC men's track and field team placed fourth at the NJCAA Region XI meet with 84 points.
Iowa Central was the regional team champion with 291.5 points. Iowa Western was second with 198.5 and Southwestern was third with 101 points.
The foursome of Timothi McMaster, Kyle Younker, Kalen Eastman and Deionte Ganzy set the NIACC school record in the 4x100-meter relay with their second-place time of 41.97. Indian Hills won the 4x100 in 41.82.
The old mark was 42.18 set on April 27 at the Grand View Classic.
NIACC's Jacob Henjum was second in the triple jump with a leap of 13.08 meters and was seventh in the high jump (1.88 meters). NIACC's Alec Hayes was fourth in the high jump (1.93 meters).
Also for the NIACC men at the regional meet, Blake Keller was third in the 1,500 in a time of 4:11.86 and Abdiaziz Wako was fourth (4:15.30). The Trojans' Brian Jacques was third in the 5,000 (16:31.12).
In the high jump, NIACC's Alec Hayes was fourth (1.93)
The Trojans' David Carter was fifth in the 800 (2:00.48) and Brody Goos was fifth in the 110 hurdles (15.50).
In the 3,000 steeplechase, Logan Dalbeck was fourth (10:46.65) and Grant Dieken was fifth (11:00.78).
In the hammer throw, NIACC's Devyn Brady was fifth (20.87 meters).
The Trojans were also third in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. The Trojans' 4x400 team of Younker, Carter, Ethan Klasi and Scott Hengesteg clocked a 3:23.93. In the 4x800, Keller, Carter, Wako and Daniel Hennigar ran a 8:07.92.
