NIACC men place fourth at Viking Classic
DES MOINES - The NIACC men's and women's track and field teams both placed fourth at the Grand View Viking Classic on Friday.
The NIACC men were fourth with 44 points. Host Grand View won the meet with 217 points.
NIACC's Jakob Luna was second in the 100-meter dash (11.35) and third in the 200 (22.95). Dennis Elms Jansson was third in the 400 hurdles (1:00.75) and the 4x100 team of Scott Hengesteg, David Carter, Elms Jansson and Ben VanHorn was second in 45.55
NIACC's Ethan Klasi was fourth in the 400 (53.94), Hengesteg was fifth (54.02) and Carter was eighth (57.68).
In the 200, Klasi was sixth (24.04) and Hengesteg was eighth (24.42). In the 1,500, Canyon Kuhlmann was seventh (4:29.46).
For the NIACC women, Kendra Schmidt was second in the 800 (2:31.44).
In the 400 hurdles, Cassandra Bonsall was third (1:11.12) and Amy Fullerton was fourth (1:12.31).
In the 100-meter dash, Lindsey Haley was fifth (14.09) and Bryanna Lambert was seventh (14.25). In the 200, Haley was sixth (28.89) and Lambert was 10th (30.05).
