Trojans stay 22nd in NJCAA track and field rankings
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's track and field team remained No. 22 in the fourth set of NJCAA Division I rankings released by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Iowa Central is ranked No. 1 and Iowa Western is 11th.
The NIACC men were also 22nd in last week's rankings.
For the NIACC men, sophomore Wal Khat is ranked first in the 800 (1:52.45), ninth in the 600 (1:2046) and 24th in the mile (4:23.91).
Also for the Trojans, freshman Blake Keller ranks 17th in the 5,000 (15:33.10) and 25th in the 3,000 (9:01.97). The Trojans rank 14th in the distance medley relay (10:34.39).
NIACC sophomore Jose Aguilera is 32nd in the 1,000 (2:37.28).
In the women's rankings,
Iowa Central is ranked third and Iowa Western is ranked fifth.
For the NIACC women, freshman Cailey Weaver is ranked 12th in the 800 with a time of 2:19.54. Weaver is also 17th in the 600 (1:38.49).
The Lady Trojans' distance medley relay team has the 18th fastest time so far this season (13:23.30).
