NIACC men's golf team places 9th at Statesmen Fall Classic
OSKALOOSA - The NIACC men's golf team placed 9th at the William Penn Statesmen Fall Classic on Monday with a 2-round total of 317-308 - 625.
Zach Nicholson led the Trojans with a 154 (78-76). Josh Schaefer carded a 155 (77-78), Devin Koob shot a 157 (81-76), Joe Nordquist shot a 160 (82-78) and Mitchell Scholl shot a 162 (81-81).
"This was a tough tournament," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "There were a lot of good 4-year schools at the event and I thought we held on own pretty good overall.
"The first day kind of got away from us a little, but day 2 we shot our lowest team score of the fall season. That's encouraging and it's a good way to wrap up the fall season. We still have work to do but we came along way since late August."
