MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team cruised to a 101-79 non-conference victory over the Wartburg College Junior Varsity Monday night in the NIACC gym.
NIACC led 50-43 at the half and outscored the Knights 51-36 in the second 20 minutes to improve its overall record to 18-7 overall.
It is the sixth time this season that the Trojans have scored at least 100 points in a game.
Sophomore Jeffrey Skogen scored 18 points with 11 rebounds, eight assists and one steal to lead the Trojans. It was the second straight double/double for Skogen, who also had 10 points and 12 rebounds in last Saturday's ICCAC win over Ellsworth.
Also in double figures for the Trojans on Monday were Myles Tucker (17), Devon'dre Mayfield (14), Bradley Andrews (13), Tysen Brennan (12), Jacques Kelly (11) and Trey Woolsey (10). Kelly grabbed eight rebounds and Mayfield had seven rebounds.
Tucker had six assists and three rebounds to go with his 17 points. Jordan Jones, who scored six points, dished out seven assists.
NIACC was 12 of 29 from 3-point range, one off its season-high of 13. It is the sixth time this season that the Trojans have made at least 10 3-point goals in a game.
Brennan had four 3-point goals and Andrews had three 3-point goals.
NIACC returns to action Thursday night in an ICCAC contest at DMACC. Game time in Boone is slated for 7:30 p.m.
