NIACC men ranked 19th in NJCAA Division II poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team is ranked No. 19 in the NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday.
NIACC (9-2 overall, 1-0 ICCAC ) received votes in the Dec. 4 poll.
South Suburban (Ill.) is ranked No. 1 and Highland (Kan.) is ranked No. 2. Kirkwood is ranked No. 3, Southwestern is No. 11 and Iowa Lakes is No. 16.
NIACC opened ICCAC play last Saturday with a 104-81 win at then No. 2 Southwestern for its eighth straight victory.
NIACC also owns a win over No. 15 DCTC (101-65) on Nov. 28 in Rosemount, Minn.
Before Wednesday, the last time the NIACC men were ranked was in the 2013-14 season when the Trojans were 16th in the Dec. 3 poll. In the 2012-13 season, the Trojans were ranked as high as third in
two polls (Nov. 27 and Dec. 4).
NIACC, which has scored at least 100 points in five straight games, returns to action on Jan. 9 at home against Iowa Central in an ICCAC contest.
