NIACC men play on road this weekend

The NIACC men's basketball team hits the road for a pair of games this weekend.

NIACC (9-2) plays at the St. Ambrose Junior Varsity at 5 p.m. Saturday and at Augustana College Junior Varsity at 1 p.m. Sunday.

History Lesson

The Trojans are 3-0 all-time against the St. Ambrose JV and 0-1 all-time against the Augustana College JV.

Last season, the Augustana JV topped NIACC 92-87 and the Trojans stopped the St. Ambrose JV 82-62.

NIACC coach Mark Mohl is 3-0 against the St. Ambrose JV and 0-1 against the Augustana JV.

Last time out: NIACC wins pair at Great Western Shootout in Fort Dodge

NIACC picked up a pair of wins at the Great Western Shootout on the Iowa Central campus in Fort Dodge on Dec. 1-2. The Trojans topped Northeast CC 82-60 and nipped Central CC 67-66.

Against Northeast CC, sophomore Nick Wurm scored 20 points, Orrington Hamilton scored 19 points and Gunnar Myers scored 12 points.

Against Central CC, Wurm scored 21 points and Hamilton scored 17 points.

Hamilton was selected as the ICCAC player of the week for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3.

Sophomore Nick Wurm has 77 career 3-point goals, which is 21st on the school's career 3-point list. He has 149 career assists (34th on the school's career list) and 527 career points (58th on school's career scoring list.)
